For Our Drivers

Driver Text Messages

Houston's Courier sends job assignments and dispatch messages by text, but only to drivers who have signed up for them.

Last Updated: October 13, 2026

To get text messages, text JOIN to (713) 770-6397

That one text is what puts you on the list. Send the word JOIN from the mobile number you want dispatch to reach, and you will get a confirmation text back. Nothing else is required, and there is no form to fill out.

Houston's Courier dispatch texts: text JOIN to (713) 770-6397 from the mobile phone you use for work. By texting JOIN you agree to receive recurring automated texts from Houston's Courier about your work: delivery job assignments, job changes and cancellations, and messages from our dispatchers, sometimes with a photo, a link or a phone number. Message frequency varies (typically 1 to 20 messages on a day you work). Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help. Reply STOP to opt out. Signing up is optional and is not a condition of working with Houston's Courier; couriers who do not sign up get their jobs by phone. Your mobile number and consent will not be sold or shared with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes. Privacy Policy: https://houstonscourier.com/privacy.htm Terms: https://houstonscourier.com/terms.htm

Haven't texted JOIN? You'll get a phone call instead.

Dispatch texts only drivers who have texted JOIN from their own phone. Nobody is signed up automatically or carried over from an older system: you are signed up only after you text JOIN.

So until you text JOIN to (713) 770-6397, dispatch will reach you by phone call, exactly as it does now. You will not miss work by not signing up, and you do not need to do anything if you would rather keep getting calls.

Signing up is your choice

Signing up for texts is not a condition of working with Houston's Courier, of being offered work, or of continuing to drive for us. It is a convenience. Drivers who sign up usually hear about jobs faster than drivers waiting on a call, but not signing up costs you nothing and changes nothing about your standing with us.

What we text you about

This program is for dispatch only: new delivery jobs assigned to you (tracking number, pickup and destination city, ready time, and any deliver-by time), jobs that are cancelled, and messages from our dispatchers, including replies when you text us. A dispatcher's message sometimes includes a photo (for example, a building entrance), a link or a phone number. We do not send marketing, promotional, or advertising texts to drivers, and we do not text customers from this number.

Stopping texts

Reply STOP to any message from (713) 770-6397 and the texts stop. You will get one final confirmation, and after that dispatch goes back to calling you. A reply of only STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, REVOKE or OPT OUT also stops all texts, so to ask about a cancelled job, write a full sentence or call dispatch. You can also ask dispatch to stop texting you. Text JOIN or START to (713) 770-6397 if you change your mind. Replying STOP does not affect your work, your schedule, or your pay.

Getting help

Reply HELP to any message for program information and a contact number. For anything time-sensitive, call dispatch directly at (713) 592-0000 — dispatch is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can also email info@houstonscourier.com.

Message frequency, rates, and delivery

Message frequency varies (typically 1 to 20 messages on a day you work) and depends on your shift and the jobs assigned to you; some days bring several messages, other days none. Message and data rates may apply according to your own plan with your mobile carrier; Houston's Courier does not charge you for these texts. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages, so never rely on a text alone for a hard deadline. If something is critical, call dispatch.

What we do with your number

We use your mobile number to dispatch work to you, and for nothing else. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. We never sell, rent, or share driver mobile numbers for marketing or promotional purposes. Our full Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.
